West Africa's Pure Black Soap
African Black Soap is called "ODUDU OSUN"  in Nigeria and "ALATA
SAMINA" in Ghana.  These fine products have enjoyed an almost mystical
reputation across many African clans and regions from the beginning of
recorded time.  Black soap also plays a role in some African purification
rites and rituals.  The preparation of Black soap is very labor-intensive, and
once required a community effort.   The material that constitute Black
Soap emerge from the heart of the community's food supply, further
wedding this ancient product to the soul of the community.  Black Soap is
made throughout West Africa... From the Mano tribe in Liberia, to the
Yoruba tribes in Western Nigeria and in the Gambia, Ivory Coast, Sierra
Leone, Benin and so forth..
