Tuareg Silver is an alloy of copper and silver made from a Silver
Dollar in Africa, by Tuareg people from a Tuareg tribe.
The nomadic descendants
of the North African
Berbers, the Tuareg are
found all over the Sahara.
Especially Mali, Niger, and
southern Algeria. They are
very proud people who
were historically warriors
and raiders and were
known for their Jewelry
making abilities.
Since the drought of the
1970's when their herds of
cattle were devastated,
many have had to abandon
their nomadic existence for
village lifestyles. In order
to make an income, many
have turned to making
silver products
We are honored to be
able to sale their jewelry.
As a way show our
support during their efforts
to support themselves.
We have decided to send
all profits from the sale of
any of their products, back
to the Tuareg Artist.
